Cooperation Agreement Signed Between Thermal Power Generation Holding Company and Turbo Compressor Nafte
On the morning of Day 29, 1403 (January 19, 2025), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Thermal Power Generation Holding Company (TPGHC) (CEO: Abolfazl Asgari) and Turbo Compressor Nafte (TCN) (CEO: Masoud Arefpour) to modernize the country’s aging power plant fleet and enhance electricity generation capacity.
Key Aspects of the Agreement:
Construction of medium-scale power plants (up to 2,000 MW total capacity)
Design, manufacturing, and support of expansion turbines
Strengthening Iran’s self-sufficiency in the design and production of power plants and turbogenerators (with capacities ranging from 12 to 60 MW)
Localization of strategic technologies
Energy consumption optimization, fuel efficiency improvement, and emission reduction
Development of competitive products using domestic innovations and advanced technologies

Modernization of Iran’s power plant fleet
Development of medium-scale power plants
